Beth Allen is a singer/song writer based in Mackay, Queensland. She teaches voice in the hills of Farleigh where she lives with fellow musician and partner Kim Kirkman. Her formal musical training includes a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Queensland Conservatorium of Music and ATCL in piano. Beth has spent the last 15 years exploring the healing arts, studying Reiki, BowenTherapy, Yoga Chi Gung, The Melchizedek Method and other forms of healing; bringing her back to her true passion, the healing power of music.
"For
me, song writing can provide a way to understand my feelings or
a way to heal and find something positive in a painful situation,
whether it be the uncertainty and excitement of a possible new romance,
the hope that's left at the end of a special relationship, or more
global issues. My music helps me remember to enjoy the joyous times
and remind me that difficult times do eventually pass. It helps
me personally link what is happening in life to where I am on my
path."
I guess my goal is to have
my music reach as many people as possible, ideally via film. In
an intimate live concert situation, I have had the wonderful opportunity
to lift people's spirits. Now with my song recordings, I have the
possibility of reaching more people. We've all experienced great
joy and great pain, and if a song can give someone a moment of hope
or clarity, then I have done my job."
